Live courses for the people who build and run security networks
Six instructor-led courses taught by Hans Study. Copper and fibre, the network under the cameras, hardening the switches, the Windows servers, and the control networks, and a one-day bootcamp for suppliers facing the Canadian Program for Cyber Security Certification. Small groups, hands-on labs, and a certificate with contact hours for your CPE file.
The 3-day courses open at 25% off list for the first cohorts, and the CPCSC Bootcamp at half its list price. Prices are in Canadian dollars, before tax, per seat. Group and corporate rates on request.

How the courses run
Live, instructor-led, online. Private delivery at your site for groups of 6 or more. Each 3-day course runs 9:00 to 16:30 Eastern with a lab block every afternoon. The CPCSC Bootcamp is a single day on the same clock.
Groups are capped at 12 so every participant gets their own switch, server, or cable spool in the labs. Hans teaches every session himself. There is no slide reader and no guest instructor.
Cohort dates are set once a course has 6 confirmed seats. Reserve a seat and you get the next dates for that course first, with no payment until the dates are confirmed.
Continuing professional education
Every course is eligible for continuing professional education credit. The certificate lists the contact hours, 7 per course day, for submission to bodies that accept instructor-led training. That covers the common security and IT bodies that take self-reported hours with a certificate, and most provincial licensing bodies that accept instructor-led technical training. Check with yours before you book if the credit is the point.
Free self-paced courses
The live courses build on the free Study Learning suite. Take these first if you want the foundations before you sit in a room, or afterward to keep the material fresh. They run in the browser with animated CLI, knowledge checks, and a final assessment.
- Network Primer Networking foundations, about 40 minutes.
- CCTV Fundamentals The camera side, 80 minutes.
- Network Hardening Vendor-neutral switch hardening, 80 minutes.
- Windows Hardening for Genetec The servers under the VMS, 85 minutes.
- Security Integrator The hub course, 90 minutes.
- OT Networks Purdue, IEC 62443, and ICS protocols, 90 minutes.
- Cisco IOS Syntax companion to Network Hardening, about 45 minutes.
Group and corporate bookings
The Datacom courses are built to run for a whole room at once: union halls and training centres, electrical distributors hosting their contractor customers, and alarm, CCTV, and access control companies putting a crew through together. Group and corporate rates apply, and the labs come to your site.
A distributor can host a cohort for its contractor customers. A union hall can run it as part of an upgrade program. An alarm or CCTV company can put every technician through the same three days and stop arguing about terminations. Send the group size, the location, and the rough timing, and the group rate comes back with the quote. Ask about a group booking.
Private delivery
Any course can run at your site for a single organisation, with the labs built on the equipment you deploy and the examples drawn from your own installs. Integrators usually book this for a crew between projects. Electrical contractors book the Datacom course before taking on their first structured cabling scope. Ask with the group size and the rough timing and the quote follows.
Not sure which course fits?
A 15-minute call sorts it out. Say what the crew does now and what the next job needs, and you will get a straight recommendation, including the free courses if those are enough.
